New place on Divisidero between McAllister and Fulton- thumbs up!
Not like any ol' pizza joint, this is just a bit upscale (not like in a dress up way; there's real restaurant ambience & the food well prepared & served). There's a jukebox with some excellent selections, wine currently and beer soon, and the mixed salad was fantastic.
The real gem is the deep dish tho- I'm known to my friends as something of a pizza nazi, being from Chicago- and while this isn't quite on par w/ Zachary's in the East Bay, I'd still give it at least an 8 on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the aforementioned Zachary's.
They'll have both beer & wine soon, but last night it was just wine.
Something else I forgot- their desserts! They were out of homemade cheesecake, but the creme brulee was awesome.
And the jukebox? Everything from Interpol to T.Rex to Joy Division to Built to Spill!

Re: Little Star Pizza (deep dish, dessert & a jukebox?!?!)
Mon, December 13, 2004 - 7:36 PMI enjoyed this place also. Not your typical pizza place because it has nice artwork hanging and the decor is quite lovely.
Their deep dish was very good comparably to their thin crust. I would suggest any chicago lover pizza to try this place out. -

Re: Little Star Pizza (deep dish, dessert & a jukebox?!?!)
Tue, December 14, 2004 - 9:09 AMHA HA... Christmas P well I'm not one to talk about pizza but I've tried Zachery's in East Bay -- and I'm sorry I needed the jaws of life to eat the bread part of the bread. It was hard to eat.
BUT...I'll be headed to NYC soon so I'll grab myself some ol' fashion NY style pizza. Just the cheese, please! Perhaps, I'll get some sautéed mushrooms on it. I use to like this place called Lenny's back in the days.
